Lodge Responsibilities Housekeepers are to clean the lodge daily by vacuuming all carpeted areas, mopping hard surfaces, dusting tables, counters, chairs, and window ledges, and removing debris from floor and counter surfaces. Office areas are cleaned and vacuumed daily, with removal and replacement of plastic garbage liners. Lodge bathrooms are to be cleaned daily and restocked with paper towels, toilet paper, wastebasket liners and sanitary liners. The utility building restrooms (Bob & Sharon) are cleaned by housekeeping staff daily. Housekeepers restock cleaning supplies for lodge as needed. Lodge windows are washed inside and out as often as needed. Housekeepers are responsible for keeping washing machine and dryer filters cleaned out and reporting to maintenance if equipment needs repair or is malfunctioning beyond housekeepers’ ability to repair. All supplies in washhouse are kept in an orderly fashion on supply shelves (Head of housekeeping responsible for inventory and ordering these supplies). Washhouse swept and kept clean. Cabin towels, washcloths, blankets and bedspreads are folded after removal from dryer and placed in plastic bags. Cleaning vans are cleaned out and reorganized on a regular basis, and restocked with cabin and cleaning supplies. As time allows in summer months, housekeepers wash outside of van. Housekeeping shed maintained in an organized manner. Supplies restocked as needed. During summer months and weekly stays, housekeepers obtain list of incoming cabins and do sheet set-up bags with appropriate number of sheets and pillowcases in each plastic bag and label cabin number on bag. Bags are distributed by housekeepers to appropriate cabin porches on day of departure. Housekeepers bag dirty sheets and pillowcases into grey bags for laundry company to pick up the following week. After cabin cleaning, housekeepers are responsible for removal of dirty items from cleaning vans and restocking for next day. Housekeepers are responsible for care of vacuum cleaners, including changing vacuum bags, belts and care in use of vacuums in the lodge and cabins. Cabin Responsibilities Housekeepers clean cabins upon guest departure by the following: Open all curtains in cabins and turn on light. Make beds with clean linens and restock futon couch linens. Clean bathrooms and restock supplies and amenities. Clean kitchens and restock supplies and amenities. Clean living rooms and fireplaces, restocking wood and fire starters in fireplaces and by placing furniture in proper position. Sweep porches and decks, clean off deck chairs and picnic tables. Remove debris from around cabin entrances. Clean dining tables and chairs and place in proper position. Turn on table lamp and entry light at each cabin. Housekeepers ready cabins for guests that have been previously cleaned. Check all bathroom surfaces for water spots or stains, insects, etc. Check kitchens for all supplies and amenities and restock if necessary. Check living rooms for proper furniture placement and stocking of fireplaces. Check bedrooms for correct bed making and alignment of bedspreads and check for futon linen supplies. Housekeepers keep up with cabin laundry, including towels, washcloths, cleaning rags, blankets, bedspreads and area rugs. Housekeepers are responsible for keeping washing machine and dryer filters cleaned out and reporting to maintenance if equipment needs repair or is malfunctioning beyond housekeepers’ ability to repair.
