Other duties not listed here may be assigned as necessary to ensure the proper operations of the department and the business.Role OverviewNatWest Markets’ U.S. Legal Department is seeking a Legal Documentation Negotiator to provide transactional support to NatWest Markets Plc, a CFTC-registered, non-U.S. swaps dealer, and NatWest Markets Securities Inc., a U.S.-based broker-dealer. The role supports a broad range of trading businesses, including FX, Rates, Prime Brokerage, and Securities (cash markets and repo). The successful candidate will be a self-directed professional with strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate across legal, risk, credit, compliance, operations, and front-office teams in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a key member of the legal document negotiation team, draft, review, analyze, and negotiate a wide range of trading, collateral, and financing documentation across multiple asset classes and products .Documentation includes ISDA Master Agreements and Schedules, Credit Support Annexes (CSAs), Master Repurchase Agreements (MRAs/GMRA), Sponsored Repurchase Agreements, Account Control Agreements, prime brokerage and FX agreements, credit, security and guarantee agreements, legal opinions, and authority documentation. Support documentation for a broad range of counterparty types, including corporates, hedge funds, private funds, separately managed accounts, and other institutional clients. Ensure negotiations result in legal agreements that comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards, including U.S. swap dealer regulation and U.S. margin rules. Analyze and negotiate key legal and risk provisions (netting, collateral, termination, etc. Review counterparty documentation (fund documents, legal opinions, etc.) to assess capacity and enforceability.Required Qualifications3-6 years of demonstrated legal documentation negotiation experience on the sell side (e.g., broker-dealer or market-making investment bank) and/or the buy side (e.g., hedge fund, asset manager, private fund, or another institutional investor). Comparable experience gained at other highly rated financial institutions, including global investment banks, systemically important financial institutions, or large, sophisticated asset managers, will be considered. Experience negotiating complex derivatives and collateral documentation with a wide range of counterparties. Essential working knowledge of U.S. margin rules, including regulatory margin requirements for uncleared swaps. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment in negotiation contexts. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple negotiations simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with legal, credit, risk, compliance, operations, and front-office partners across regions.JD is not required for this rolePreferred QualificationsIn-depth understanding of derivatives products, margining mechanics, and market conventions. Knowledge of regulatory, legal, and risk considerations impacting derivatives trading, including Dodd-Frank and swap dealer regulation. Familiarity with Dodd-Frank protocols and industry standard documentation initiatives. Familiarity with the U.S. Treasury Clearing Rules and related industry documentationThe expected base annual salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 at the start of employment. This is not a guarantee of compensation. The exact compensation is determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on skills, experience, training licensure, certifications and location.
