About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Surg/Telemetry experience License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips - General medical/surgical skillset - EPIC experience required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry. The unit consists of 32 beds with an average census of 32 patients. Patients commonly present with diagnoses such as stroke, seizure, acute mental status changes, generalized weakness, acute kidney injury/chronic kidney disease, falls, cellulitis, and non-healing wounds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are as follows: - Days/Nights: 1:5-6, with surge staffing potentially increasing ratios up to 1:7-8. Support within the department includes: - CNA support with a ratio of 1:12 - Charge nurse oversight - Phlebotomy services available 24/7 - Dedicated IV/VAT team available 24/7 - Clinical Nurse Specialist support - Hospitalist services available 24/7 - Nurse Educator on staff Floating may be required within the region and must align with the scope of practice. If floating mid-shift occurs, travelers will be compensated for travel time between facilities. The unit culture promotes a family-oriented environment.
