About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required in the last 5 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Must be able to take heparin drips. Experience with PCA, colostomy care, and feeding tube care and management. Knowledge in blood product administration, central line care/management, and peripheral line care/management. Experience in phlebotomy and PICC line management. Ability to start IVs and manage dysrhythmias. Experience with O2 protocol management and non-invasive airway management. Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE. Experience with traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, surgical drains, and chest tubes. Experience with nasal cannula, oral suctioning, tracheostomy management, and wound care. Epic documentation experience required. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to a cancellation. Traveler experience is accepted for first-time travelers. Floating to similar units and alternate care locations may be required. The traveler will be assigned to every other weekend. Contract staff may be required to report to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Target patient ratios are 1:6-7, and candidates must be comfortable with these ratios. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Patient diagnoses include severe injury to bones, joints, and/or soft tissue, as well as traumatic brain injuries. This position involves managing a daily census of approximately 32 patients. All testing must be completed promptly upon hire.
