About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to join their dynamic team. The CPO will be a visionary relationship-builder and strategic fundraising leader, responsible for growing philanthropic support, strengthening community partnerships, and aligning donor investment with the institution's mission and strategic priorities. This role is pivotal in serving as a key advisor to the President, VP of Communications, Advancement & External Engagement, Foundation Board, and Cabinet, and in positioning philanthropy as a strategic driver of student success, workforce development, and community impact. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in non-profit fundraising, be adept at managing a comprehensive philanthropy strategy, and will be expected to secure annual fundraising goals. Applicants for the Chief Philanthropy Officer position at the company should have an earned bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a master’s or doctorate/terminal degree. A minimum of 8 years' experience in leading a fundraising team is required, with a strong background in philanthropic and business development. The role demands a leader with outstanding organizational skills, the ability to build and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, and a deep understanding of the community college educational philosophy. The CPO will be responsible for donor research, relationship building, and stewardship, as well as for the advancement operations and data-driven portfolio management. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, results-oriented individual with a passion for the mission of the institution and a commitment to the values of student-centered education, opportunity, partnership, and impact.
