Who we are and what we do: TennCare is Tennessee's managed care Medicaid program that provides health insurance coverage to certain groups of low-income individuals such as pregnant women, children, caretaker relatives of young children, older adults, and adults with physical disabilities. TennCare provides coverage for approximately 1.7 million Tennesseans and operates with an annual budget of approximately $14 billion. It is run by the Division of TennCare with oversight and some funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). TennCare's mission is to improve the lives of Tennesseans by providing high-quality cost-effective care. The Division of TennCare is dedicated to providing our employees with a hybrid work environment. All TennCare positions have a combination of work from home and work in the office, which varies by position, department, and business need. You may review the specific expectations with our hiring team. The Division of TennCare is seeking a Curriculum Developer to work in the Compliance and Policy Group within Member Services. This full‑time position will report directly to the Member Services Curriculum Developer Director. In general, Curriculum Developers on this team will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining training materials. This position requires the ability to understand and clearly communicate complex policy and procedures, establish and maintain positive working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, manage multiple projects, and adhere to deadlines. This position is part of a hybrid work program with most work being completed remotely. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and update training content for instructor‑led courses, including facilitator guides, PowerPoints, activities, and assessments. Design, develop, implement, and maintain computer‑based training courses. Research content and collaborate with subject matter experts. Utilize various learning methods that support best practices for the adult learner. Incorporate a variety of activities that engage and encourage participation. Create learning assessments that effectively measure learning outcomes. Evaluate learning design, instructional approaches, and training pain points and address identified gaps. Modify curriculum to improve evaluation results based on Kirkpatrick's levels 1, 2, and 3. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of full‑time professional staff administrative experience or related work. OR An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered. Desirable Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience designing curriculum for adult learners. Experience using performance data to identify skill and knowledge gaps. Experience designing learning objectives and assessments. Experience using e‑Learning tools to create computer‑based learning deliverables. Excellent writing and communication skills required, preferably including experience with plain language. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and willingness to learn new digital tools and platforms. Ability to foster and maintain cohesive working relationships. Ability to respectfully provide and receive constructive feedback. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Strong organizational skills necessary, including the ability to prioritize, multi‑task and manage workload to meet specific timeframes and deadlines.
