LPN Correctional

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) in a correctional facility setting provides appropriate nursing care under established protocols and supervision. This role involves medication administration, clinical assessments, and collaboration within a healthcare team to ensure the well-being of patients. The LVN/LPN must maintain compliance with state licensure, complete required pharmacology coursework, and adhere to correctional facility policies and procedures. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Practical Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Completion of pharmacology/medication administration coursework as per Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation standards.
• Ability to pass Department of Corrections background check and screening requirements.
• Valid State ID or Driver's License for identification and screening purposes.
• Minimum education: Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program.

• Two years of recent full-time clinical experience in an acute care or ambulatory care facility.

• Work within a correctional facility environment requiring adherence to strict security protocols.
• Floating to different units within the facility as needed.
• No call requirements.
• Must successfully complete background checks and PREA screening before employment.

• 36 guaranteed hours per week.
• Work schedule includes every other weekend (2 weekends per month).
• Return to Office (RTO) limited to 5 days maximum with no more than 2 consecutive days.
• No RTO on holidays, weekends, or the days immediately before or after holidays.
