About New York Times Advertising (NYTA) is looking for a summer 2026 intern to create social media assets, marketing material and gain valuable experience working for The New York Times. This role supports the world’s most recognized and trusted news brands and offers hands‑on design skills, out‑of‑the‑box thinking, and collaboration with cross‑functional partners. Summer Internship Details The rate of pay is $20.00 per hour. The internship is 10 weeks long, starting in June 2026. Work hybrid on‑site in New York. Responsibilities Partner with the Design Director and Designer to produce assets and brainstorm solutions for NYTA and T Brand Studio social feeds. Choose impactful images, design icons, infographics and layout newsletters. Understand and explore the brand identity and learn how to design and iterate within it. Tell compelling brand stories with imagery, illustration, infographics and typography. Collaborate effectively with copywriters, marketing teams, designers and creative leaders. Basic Qualifications Sophomore or junior in an undergraduate program, or first‑year graduate student. Passionate and curious about designing compelling user experiences and enthusiastic about The New York Times and its products. Comfortable in a fast‑paced, creative environment. Experience with Adobe Suite and Figma. Strong visual design and typography skills. Interest in branding and social media design. Preferred Qualifications Good cross‑functional collaborator who works well with others and appreciates feedback. Clear communicator—both verbal and written—capable of explaining the rationale behind designs. Eager to learn and self‑driven with a track record of initiative. Rate and Benefits Hourly rate: $20.00 USD. Possibly eligible for variable pay such as an annual bonus and restricted stock.
