Our client supports the Department of State by printing and processing U.S. Passports at the Arkansas Passport Center in Hot Springs . There are several second shift Bookprint Associate I positions available from 3:30pm to 11:30pm . Starting pay is $22.37 per hour with paid vacation and holidays . If you have retail or clerical experience, clean credit, and the ability to pass a criminal background check, we want to talk to you!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under direct supervision of a Book Personalization Supervisor, performs various clerical and repetitive motion functions in Book Print, Quality Control, and Mail Out.

Book Print-

• Maintain control and accountability of passport books
• Review application information and printed passport books for errors and quality
• Remove or reject applications and passport books with errors
• Verify individual book usage report
• Fill out and maintain Book Print Batch Tracking sheets or other reports
• Prioritize work (i.e. expedited passports/early departures along with regular batches)
• Operate and be responsible for the care of computer equipment (including printers)

Quality Control-

• Check data on passport using optical character reader
• Write data onto passport-integrated chip using chip writer/reader
• Determine acceptability of passport quality
• Perform data entry function using the computer screen to verify accuracy of data
• Print correct passport endorsements as appropriate
• Generate address labels and attach them to mailing envelopes. Place sealed envelopes into postal trays for mailing

Mail Out-

• Conduct all aspects of mail out operations, including operation of automated postal machines

Miscellaneous-

• Assist in training employees in essential job functions and help to constantly improve the training process/procedures
• Ensure adherence to internal control
• Perform other functions as requested by Management Team
• Participate and assist within each department as required by workload

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) security clearance
• Ability to clear a credit check in order to obtain the MRPT
• High School diploma (or equivalent)
• Basic computer skills
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Must be able to do repetitive tasks, such as lifting, standing, sitting, reaching, twisting, sealing envelopes, filing, and reading
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally
