As an Operating/Building Engineer, you'll play a critical role in keeping our facilities running at peak performance. This position centers on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all building systems. You'll manage complex building systems, respond to emerging issues, and ensure our facilities meet and exceed applicable standards while our clients' operations continue seamlessly.

Schedule : 7:00 am-3:00 pm (flexible) Monday through Friday on site, on-call rotation.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Operate, maintain, and repair Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Electrical, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to keep all facility and building systems performing to applicable standards
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and associated equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to maintain optimum performance levels
• Record equipment readings and system parameters, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation and identifying potential issues before they escalate
• Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory to ensure all equipment is available, properly maintained, and ready for use
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems, including ballast replacement throughout the facility
• Perform maintenance and repairs on plumbing fixtures including toilets, urinals, and hand wash stations, and operate drain cleaning augers to resolve blockages
• Comply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace at all times

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems

• Ability to analyze the operation of various industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems, determine the cause of problems or malfunctions, and take corrective action

• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable

• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall

• Physical ability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and lay as required to access equipment components for extended periods of time

• Strong customer service and communication skills

Expected compensation for this position:

78,000.00 – 83,000.00 USD per year

Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
