Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Job Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for the monthly property financial statement close process and review for the assigned book of properties including assets, liabilities, and all other related financial activities for the assigned properties. Salary Salary: between $93,000 - $95,000 depending on experience + annual discretionary bonus Location Location: 100% on-site at our beautiful Ladera Ranch, CA headquarters. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department. Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. Maintains the general ledger. Codes invoices, posts journal entries, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books. Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks. Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Prepares supplemental financial schedules. Analyzes budget and actual results to report variances. Complies monthly reporting packages for each assigned property. Prepare and post consolidated journal entries across multiple properties. Review bank reconciliations and financials prepared by the property accountants. Tie out SEC reporting documents for corporate accounting team. Performs other related duties and ad hoc projects as necessary or assigned. Qualifications Needed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline required. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience required. Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Highly proficient with accounting software (NetSuite experience preferred but not required). Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Work well with others, a real team player, with a great attitude.
