Purchasing Manager

(Remote) Respected publishing outlet seeking a new Purchasing Manager. This role will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials and services essential to the book production process. This includes all facets of sourcing and purchasing printing services, in addition to vendor negotiation and management of supply chain relationships. The role also involves collaboration with multiple departments such as Production, Editorial, Marketing, and Finance, ensuring projects meet the highest quality standards, while being delivered on time and within budget. Main Responsibilities Include: Manage vendor relationships for printing and production, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring quality and compliance standards. Oversee procurement and supply chain operations, including forecasting materials, managing inventory, and ensuring timely, cost-effective purchasing. Track production progress and coordinate communication across teams, maintaining reports, timelines, and alignment on deliverables. Control budgets and production costs by analyzing pricing, identifying savings opportunities, and supporting financial forecasting. Collaborate with production, editorial, and external partners to meet project specifications, quality standards, and approval processes. Monitor market trends and mitigate supply chain risks through innovation, compliance oversight, and contingency planning. Qualifications/Experience/Skills Include: Bachelor’s Degree. Significant experience in production, operations, and supply chain management in print production. Significant experience in procurement and vendor relationship management.
