About the Role
Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Supply Chain Specialist for a contract opportunity with a growing logistics company in New Haven, Connecticut. This position is ideal for a professional with experience in supply chain operations, inventory management, procurement, and logistics coordination.
The Supply Chain Specialist will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure the efficient movement of materials and products while supporting operational goals and maintaining high service levels.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor supply chain activities from procurement through delivery
Track inventory levels and assist with inventory planning and replenishment
Communicate with vendors, suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely shipments
Analyze supply chain data and prepare reports to support operational decision-making
Monitor purchase orders, shipment schedules, and delivery timelines
Assist with demand forecasting and inventory control initiatives
Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, and supply chain issues
Maintain accurate records within ERP and inventory management systems
Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, and customer service teams to meet business objectives
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Operations, or a related field preferred
2+ years of supply chain, logistics, inventory, purchasing, or operations experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including reporting and data analysis functions
Experience working with ERP, inventory management, or supply chain software
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the logistics, transportation, distribution, or warehouse industry
Knowledge of inventory control, procurement, and demand planning principles
Familiarity with supply chain performance metrics and reporting
Experience coordinating domestic shipments and vendor relationships
Understanding of continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday
Standard business hours
Contract assignment with potential for extension based on business needs
