Sunbelt Rentals, a national leader in equipment rental, is seeking an experienced Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of aerial work platforms, construction tools, and specialty equipment such as generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil & gas units. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a diverse fleet of diesel-powered and specialty line equipment. Use advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Maintain and organize personal mechanic tools and equipment as required. Adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced, safety focused environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; trade school or equivalent technical training preferred. 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience with diesel or heavy equipment, including generators, pumps, HVAC or oil & gas systems. Strong mechanical aptitude and emphasis on safety procedures. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting. Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting. Ability to work independently and within a team. Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location. Physical Demands The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as needed.
