Human Resource Assistant 2

The Department of Corrections Human Resource Office, Field Region 10 is seeking a Human Resource Assistant 2 to complete our team of HR professionals that deliver HR services to the State Correctional Institutions at Frackville and Mahanoy. In this role, you will help create a positive candidate experience while assisting with recruiting and placement operations, scheduling, and communication throughout the hiring process. In addition to serving as the recruitment and placement liaison, the incumbent will perform a variety of paraprofessional support functions such as workers compensation liaison and coordinating E-PAR and service now ticket functions. Responsibilities Recruitment Coordination: Manage the recruitment and placement process for approved vacancies Position Tracking: Maintain detailed tracking logs and handle PAR submissions for staffing actions Modified Duty Support: Review medical documentation and assist supervisors with modified duty assignments HRIS Reporting: Prepare staffing, seniority, and complement reports for management use Service Request Processing: Coordinate E-PAR and Service Now requests and verify required information Leave and Attendance Guidance: Review leave records, identify patterns, and support supervisors in managing attendance Schedule and Additional Information Full‑time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30‑minute lunch Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable Qualifications One year of experience as a Human Resource Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) or One year of clerical or other comparable experience and one year of beginning level paraprofessional human resource or equal opportunity work, or An equivalent combination of experience and training Other Requirements You must meet the PA residency requirement You must be able to perform essential job functions Legal Requirements The selected candidate for this position must undergo a fingerprint‑based records check to be in compliance with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) Equal Employment Opportunity Statement The Commonwealth is an equal employment opportunity employer and is committed to a diverse workforce.
