We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day payable operations. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working with invoice documentation, and able to maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven accounting environment. The person in this role will help ensure vendor payments, coding, and financial records are handled efficiently while supporting broader accounting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring supporting documentation is complete.

• Match invoices to purchase orders and related records.

• Assign appropriate general ledger coding to invoices and other payable transactions in accordance with accounting guidelines.

• Prepare and maintain accounts payable records, vouchers, journal entries, and ledger updates with a high degree of accuracy.

• Use office and accounting systems to enter data, generate reports, research discrepancies, and respond to payment-related inquiries.

• Assist with check runs and other payment activities to help ensure vendors are paid according to established schedules.

• Review account details and reconcile payable balances to identify and resolve inconsistencies.

• Support specific accounting processes by maintaining organized transaction records and assisting with routine financial documentation.

• At least 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.

• Working knowledge of invoice processing, purchase order matching, and general ledger coding.

• Experience preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
