Direct Support Professional - Vancouver Area

We seek individuals who share our mission, vision, and core values. Responsibilities Provide support to program participants that meets their needs and offers opportunities for community integration. Create a nurturing, safe, and healthful living environment for residents. Familiarize yourself with the Residential Service Guidelines issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration. Deliver instruction and support services as outlined in each participant’s Individual Instruction and Support Plan (IISP). Ensure participants’ daily needs are met, including personal hygiene, food preparation, house cleaning, shopping, and health monitoring such as medication supervision. Assist participants in regularly accessing community outings, providing transportation or arranging for it as needed. Treat participants with dignity and consideration, promoting and safeguarding their ability to make decisions and exercise their rights. Provide informal counseling and problem‑solve with participants. Attend staff meetings as required by the House Manager or Site Supervisor and/or Administrator. Participate in training required by the agency, DDA, and other parties. Assist in the development and implementation of the IISP for each participant you work with. Become a Nurse Assistant Registered (NAR) by enrolling in and completing the Nurse Delegation study course and passing the test within 30 days of employment. Maintain professional relationships with service providers, participants’ parents/guardians, and agency staff. Complete all required documentation—including medication logs, shift notes, progress notes, data sheets, incident reports, and client financial records—in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned by the House Manager or Site Supervisor and/or Administrator. Have a valid driver’s license and be willing to transport clients in your own vehicle. Qualifications Minimum age 18 years or older. Minimum experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors is strongly preferred. Must have a valid in‑state driver’s license, current car insurance, and the ability to use your vehicle for client transportation. Ability to read, write, and understand English documents.
