Senior Industrial Designer

A 3D printer is one of the most demanding machines you can build. Lasers, optics, precision motion, thermals, airflow, materials handling, chemistry, sensing, controls, and software all have to work at micron-scale precision, for thousands of layers, with almost no tolerance for error. The Industrial Design team enables accessible and productive experiences for our users and communicates the brand's values through beautiful, functional products. As part of our team, you’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and scientists to significantly impact a rapidly emerging class of products. The Job: Design new products from idea to production Develop design concepts, with clear and compelling visual communication Prototype continuously, from quick mockups to refined cosmetic models Test designs with users, translate results back into the design process Help define and refine the hardware user experience, from unboxing to maintenance Create high quality CAD to communicate design intent Collaborate closely with Product, UI Design, Engineering, Manufacturing to develop well-balanced solutions Assist with cosmetic specification and validation You: Can share a portfolio of relevant design work Hold a university degree in Industrial Design 3-5 years of design experience in high-tech industries, ideally within electromechanical systems, consumer products, or robotics. The base pay will be determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and expected impact on the organization. The annual base pay range for this role is:
