The Climate Change Mitigation and Emissions Research Section in the Research Division develops and conducts policy‑relevant research to advance science and support CARB mobile source emissions and greenhouse gas reduction programs and policies. Responsibilities include: Leading big‑data‑driven emissions and GHG research programs. Initiating innovative research solutions for implementable and cost‑effective emissions and GHG regulatory and policy options. Producing clear and concise research summaries and technical papers such as memos, letters, white papers, data analysis plans, journal articles, conference and meeting presentations. Providing expert opinions to decision‑makers, networking with internal, national, and international stakeholders, and publishing research findings. Special Requirements Applicants must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) in addition to the application package. The SOQ is a narrative discussion prepared by the applicant describing how their skills, knowledge, abilities, education, training, and experience qualify them for the position. The SOQ must be no more than three pages, Arial 12‑point font, single‑spaced with 1‑inch margins. The SOQ must include the applicant’s name and the job control number. Qualifications Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s).
