FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with computerized generated accounting procedures including word processing, database and spreadsheet programs and general office equipment
• Accounting skills/experience; preferably in payroll
• Must be accurate, efficient, and capable of handling detailed work assignments
• Confidential employee, whose duties require access to confidential information.
• Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
• Good health, physical stamina, fitness and vitality

General Description: Shall be responsible for processing regular and special district payroll and related operations. This is a confidential, bargaining-unit exempt position.

Essential Functions:

1. Maintain records and process all district insurance benefit programs as well as manages the Cobra program.
2. Responsible for payroll systems coordination.
3. Process regular and special payroll runs.
4. Process completed payroll checks for distribution.
5. Responsible for proper coding, account distribution, and trial balance.
6. Maintain district payroll files.
7. Assist with all payroll reports, city tax, state tax, and federal taxes.
8. Assist with processing of School Employees Retirement System (SERS) and State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) new and terminated employee forms and monthly reports.
9. Responsible for personnel data systems coordination.
10. Responsible for personnel related reports.
11. Responsible for collecting, maintaining, and processing documentation related to FMLA.
12. Responsible for completing wage certifications, including those for Worker's Compensation.
13. Assist with insurance/benefit open enrollment as needed.
14. Assist the Treasurer/CFO in the preparation of district reports to the state auditor, the county auditor, and the Ohio Department of Education.
15. Serve as back up for other individuals within the same classification.
16. Other duties as assigned.
