Staff Accountant

Record day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accuracy of coding transactions. Complete month-end and year-end closings while assisting to create various financial reports (balance sheet, cash flow, and income statement) with work papers, including reconciliations to the accounting system and the transportation management system where applicable. Assist with creating financial reports and maintain records and general ledger accounts. Improve and assist with standardizing accounting processes. Weekly reconciliations of bank, credit card and general ledger. Be able to complete commission reports and/or back up commission report creation. Serve as a back up to processes associated with accounts payable and accounts receivable. Prepare semi-monthly payroll calculations and be able to process payroll. Assist in accumulation of information for budgets by department. Assist with banking needs and other areas of the finance department. Assist Accounting Manager and CFO with projects as needed. The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned. The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Working knowledge of US GAAP. Strong numeracy, financial, analytical and organizational skills. Good problem-solving and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel. Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to work with a sense of urgency and consistently meet deadlines. Comfortable leveraging ERP platforms, accounting systems. QuickBooks experience is a plus. Education/Work Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
