Role Description Peniel Healthcare Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dependable Patient Care Assistant to join our growing healthcare team. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Ohio. The Patient Care Assistant will work closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support patients with their daily care needs while helping maintain a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment. Key Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, positioning, and other care needs. Measure, record, and report vital signs accurately. Assist patients with safe movement, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics. Observe patients and promptly communicate changes in condition, behavior, or care needs to the appropriate licensed healthcare professional. Prepare patient rooms, supplies, and equipment as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment. Follow infection prevention, safety, and clinical care protocols. Accurately document patient care and related observations. Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional support to patients and their families. Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to support coordinated, high-quality patient care. Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable policies and regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Nurse Aide, Patient Care Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or similar healthcare training program is preferred. Current Nursing Assistant certification or similar credential in Ohio is preferred. Candidates who are eligible to obtain certification may also be considered. Experience providing direct patient care or assisting with activities of daily living is preferred. Ability to accurately measure and document vital signs. Basic understanding of medical terminology and clinical instructions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Compassionate, respectful, and patient-focused approach to care. Ability to follow clinical procedures, safety protocols, and infection control practices. Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
