Accounts Receivable Specialist

Advent Talent Group is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to support a mission-driven organization by ensuring accurate and timely processing of incoming funds in Minneapolis, MN. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting donor and partner relationships, and helping drive strong collection outcomes through thoughtful, service-focused communication. Overview Job Type: Full-time – 37.5 hours Pay Rate: $30 - $33/hour Position Type: Contract to hire Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid) Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Processing Record and process incoming payments (ACH, wire, checks, credit cards) with a high degree of accuracy Apply payments to accounts within a CRM system, ensuring timely and correct allocation Partner cross-functionally to confirm payment details and resolve discrepancies Maintain organized documentation for audit and compliance purposes Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy Collections & Account Support Generate and distribute recurring pledge reminders on a consistent schedule Monitor account activity and follow up on outstanding balances using a tactful, donor-sensitive approach Respond to payment-related inquiries, ensuring a high level of service to both internal and external stakeholders Track aging balances and elevate risks as needed Support year-end reconciliation processes, including account reviews and write-offs Qualifications Associate’s degree with 1–2 years of relevant experience OR 3+ years of related experience in accounts receivable or similar work Knowledge of basic accounting and reconciliation principles Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail (including 10-key proficiency) Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience with CRM or financial systems preferred Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Benefits Medical Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Advent Talent Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
