About the Position

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Driver's license required Description: Unit notes include a radius rule of 50 miles. Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities. Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments. Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of the contract. RNs must pass a Pass/Fail exam with a 90% to successfully complete orientation. Blocked scheduling will not be approved unless it is for weekends only. Duos wanting the same schedule will not be accommodated. If placed on-call and called back in, there is a 30-minute response time required. This unit has 33 beds with an average daily census of 16 patients. Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:2-3 for adults. Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent care, stroke, and renal failure. RNs are required to titrate drips, including cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips. Nurse aides are available based on census and will assist as needed. Healthcare support technicians are available three days per week. RNs will troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow systems. Shifts available are 0630-1830 and 1830-0630. Self-scheduling is allowed for core staff. Holiday requirements include a minimum of 2 holidays during the contract period. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. RTO must be provided upfront, with additional RTO not approved after submission. The facility can cancel up to 4 shifts during the contract period. The charting system used is EPIC.
