Regional Environmental Manager

Responsibilities Provide oversight and resources to ensure divisions within the region implement Lennar’s Environmental Management System (LEMS), which includes stormwater management, air quality compliance, spill prevention control and countermeasures, and environmental due diligence modules. Maintain working knowledge of Air Quality Regulations, current NPDES General Construction Permit, Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, and municipal NPDES requirements applicable to the region. Apply familiarity with wetlands permitting protocols, endangered species regulations related to construction, and Phase I environmental site assessment requirements. Develop, coordinate, and deliver LEMS training for Division Environmental Managers and division associates throughout the region, covering procedural and technical aspects of compliance. Regularly interact with Lennar’s National Environmental Manager and National Director of Environmental Compliance and Safety to support implementation of LEMS at the division level. Direct and coordinate LEMS environmental reviews and audits for the region in accordance with company policy, develop and train audit teams, interpret findings, and present recommendations to management. Proficiently apply Best Management Practices required for air and stormwater quality (NPDES) programs. Communicate Lennar’s expectations to trade partners (subcontractors) regarding Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and local stormwater and air quality regulations. Strive to maintain consistent quality standards across the region in meeting regulatory agency requirements for dust control and stormwater runoff. Assist the General Counsel’s office with legal issues related to the LEMS and coordinate post‑construction record retention for LEMS‑related documents. Attend training courses and seminars to stay current on inspection protocols, stormwater runoff, air quality, and wetlands permitting issues, and maintain required federal or state credentials. Represent Lennar at water quality control board and/or air quality management district hearings as needed. Build relationships with regulatory agencies, including local authorities, municipalities, state and federal environmental protection agencies, air quality districts, and water quality control boards. Travel as required and produce timely, accurate reports to corporate, regional, and division management. Interpret regulatory reports and technical data for Regional President, Regional Vice‑President, and Division Presidents. Create a sense of pride in quality workmanship, service, and delivery of the American dream of secure and quality homeownership by ensuring compliance and cleanliness within communities under the REM’s jurisdiction. Qualifications Seven (7) years of experience in soils and/or erosion control. College degree in agriculture, civil or environmental management/engineering, geology, geography, soil science, natural resource management, or a related field. Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) or qualified to take the exam. Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ) or qualified to take the exam. Strong understanding of residential construction practices. Knowledge of laws and regulations related to the federal Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and air quality regulations. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office. Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements Regular, in‑person attendance at company communities, job sites, and offices during normal work hours. Work may require more than eight hours per day in confined quarters of a construction trailer. Ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and/or carry equipment up to 50 pounds. Occasional operation of construction equipment may be required. Finger dexterity required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator. Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for this position is $77,975.00 – $113,888.00 annually, subject to adjustment based on qualifications, geographic pay differentials, and business considerations. The position may be eligible for bonuses and commissions and will qualify for the company’s benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave, an associate assistance plan, an education assistance program, and various other benefits.
