Preconstruction Director

OVERVIEWWe are currently seeking a Preconstruction Director for our Texas Building Division, in Dallas, TX.The Preconstruction Manager will report to the Vice President of Estimating and work with the Chief Estimators and Preconstruction Directors/Lead Estimators. The Preconstruction Manager will support and work with management, operations and estimating staff in the review of project plans, requirements and specifications.As a fourth-generation, family-owned business, Walsh recruits individuals who are seeking a small company feel with a large company backing. Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.Review quotes and estimates with the Project Management Team.Prepare estimates at different levels of completion (conceptual, Schematic, DD, CD, etc.)Assist with certain post-bid buyouts.Be able to lead responses to RFP’sPerforms other related duties as required and assignedQUALIFICATIONS7-15 years of Estimating or Construction Management experience.Extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principlesEstimating experience with large Commercial, Residential, Healthcare, Transportation projectsMust be confident working with estimating teams of varying sizes, and be capable of estimating hard bid, negotiated and conceptual projectsIndividual must be self-motivated, possess strong communication/interpersonal skills and be confident in his/her ability to develop and manage their assigned portion of the estimateAdvanced computers skills with MS Office, Primavera P6Well organized, flexible, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.Prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demandsEffective presentation skillsExcellent written and oral communicator.The Walsh Group, Ltd.
