Job Description
Registered Nurse - ICU

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, 3 nights per week.

Assignment Details

Contract length of 13 weeks or longer, with a maximum of 7 days requested time off. Units require floating as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with strong drip experience.
• Must have experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips.
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications are required.
• Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, Stepdown, and Telemetry is necessary.
• Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, and blood product administration.
• Skill in central line, peripheral line, and PICC line management.
• Experience with chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, and high flow nasal cannula.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Epic.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, monitoring and responding to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in patient education and inform families about care procedures and updates.
• Utilize rapid response teams effectively in critical situations.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and isolation precautions.

Compliance / Notes

Hospital orientation is required in the first week; travelers must be available for classes each day. EKG testing must be passed prior to start for this specialty.
