Front Desk / Patient Services Representative *Location:* Owosso
*Training Location:* Bay City (first 2 weeks - mileage reimbursed)

* Friday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Job Summary A busy and well-established *orthotic and prosthetic medical practice* is seeking a reliable and customer-focused *Front Desk / Patient Services Representative* for its Owosso location. This position supports a high-volume clinic (20-35 patients per day) and plays a critical role in patient experience, insurance processes, and front-office operations.
The selected candidate will complete *two weeks of training at the Bay City location*, with *reimbursed mileage*, before transitioning to the Owosso office.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet and check in patients professionally and efficiently
* Answer phones and assist patients with general inquiries
* Verify, enter, and maintain accurate patient demographic information
* Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations/precertifications
* Quote and collect patient payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
* Schedule and manage patient appointments
* Update patient records within the EMR system
* Provide general administrative and front office support
* Cross-train in patient check-out and prior authorization functions
* Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
* Minimum *2 years of medical office front desk experience*
* Minimum *2 years of EMR/electronic medical record system experience*
* Minimum *2 years of experience with medical terminology*
* Proven experience *verifying insurance coverage*
* Strong computer proficiency and attention to detail
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in an *orthotic and prosthetic* medical office (preferred/bonus)
* Familiarity with *OPIE EMR*
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owosso, MI.
*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00/hr.
