Part-Time Accounting SpecialistLocation: Centennial, CO — Hybrid to Start, Then Remote Employment Type: Part-Time / Temporary Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week Schedule: Flexible; ideally 4 hours per day across multiple days per week Pay: $22–$27/hourPosition OverviewOur client in Centennial, CO is seeking a reliable Part-Time Accounting Specialist to provide support to their accounting team while a Staff Accountant is out on leave. This position will primarily support day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.The ideal candidate does not need extensive accounting experience but should have some familiarity with basic accounting processes and be comfortable learning new systems.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and apply daily cash receipts to the appropriate customer accounts.Research and resolve discrepancies related to customer payments.Enter Accounts Payable invoices received through email into the company's ERP system.Review invoice information for accuracy and ensure invoices are properly entered for payment.Assist with basic account reconciliations and other accounting tasks as needed.Learn and navigate the client's internal accounting systems and processes.Maintain accuracy and organization while managing recurring accounting processes.QualificationsPrevious Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience preferred.Basic understanding of accounting principles and processes.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to learn new accounting systems and processes quickly.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Accounting degree not required.Open to entry-level candidates with relevant accounting coursework or exposure.Additional DetailsThis position is expected to be approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility around the specific days and hours worked. The client prefers the work to be spread across multiple days.The position will be hybrid initially in Centennial to allow the candidate to meet with the hiring manager, receive their equipment, complete system setup, and receive initial training. Once the candidate is fully trained and comfortable with the systems, the role will transition to fully remote.The company will provide a laptop.
