Overview The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a 16‑week development focused role that prepares candidates for a future CVS Store Manager position. The program includes self‑paced, collaborative training and hands‑on learning experiences led by a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach. Key Responsibilities Communicate verbal and written guidance to support and lead the team. Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service. Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth. Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Actively engage with leadership in Key Learning Experiences to support professional development and promotion opportunities. Support the store as a management‑team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies. Engage colleagues in furthering the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health. Eligibility & Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor. Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market. Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with all federal, state and local laws. Pay and Benefits The typical pay range for this role is $18.50 - $28.67 hourly. Pay is based on experience, education, geography and other factors.
