Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Hematology – Frederick/Fairfax, VA Working with Us This role offers a unique blend of scientific rigor and customer engagement, aiming to drive adoption of Bristol Myers Squibb medicines within a defined territory. You will work in a field‑based capacity, building strong relationships with healthcare providers to support the optimal use of BMS products. Position Summary The TAS is critical in our customer model, ensuring the BioPharma aspiration to deliver the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs). Your primary responsibility is to drive demand for BMS medicines, engaging HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue. Key Responsibilities Portfolio Promotion Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner. Create demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients. Maintain and grow scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas. Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans. Use tools such as CE^3 to derive insights, inform call plans, and provide feedback to leadership. Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue Present scientific resources and publications accurately to HCPs. Conduct in‑office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) consistent with label. Organize external speaker programs and manage logistics. Stay current on emerging data for approved indications. Engage real‑time medical support via Medical on Call for complex inquiries. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Collaborate with other field teams to ensure the best Cx for HCPs. Share insights internally to enable BMS to better serve its customers. Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct. Required Qualifications & Experience Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP engagement, or nursing. Strong communication of scientific or clinical data to physicians. Proven ability to build strong credibility with key customers and stakeholders. Experience in Hematology/Oncology required. Account management and sales performance track record meeting or exceeding goals. Cross‑functional teamwork with a positive attitude. Excellent selling and promotional skills. Compensation Overview Field – United States – US: $144,500 – $175,100 Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation will be based on demonstrated experience.
