School Counselor (Leave replacement 8/25/26-1/31/27)

Summary Cedar Hill Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor for a full‑time leave replacement position from August 25, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive and supportive school environment for students, staff, and families. This role involves providing counseling services, facilitating social‑emotional learning, and collaborating with educators and parents to promote student success. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges. Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies. Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement programs that support student development and well‑being. Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation among students to promote a positive school climate. Organize and lead workshops and presentations on topics such as social skills, bullying prevention, and mental health awareness. Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress. Serve as a resource for parents and guardians, providing guidance on student development and available support services. Participate in school‑wide initiatives and committees to enhance the overall educational experience for students. Stay updated on best practices in school counseling and participate in professional development opportunities. Requirements Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field. Valid state certification or licensure as a School Counselor. Previous experience working with elementary school‑aged children preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff. Knowledge of social‑emotional learning frameworks and counseling techniques. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school environment.
