Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator – Tool Room Machinist to join our team in Erie, Pennsylvania. This role involves setting up and operating both CNC and manual machines such as boring mills, vertical lathes, and horizontal mills, with a focus on machining unique parts ranging from 2 pounds to over 250,000 pounds. You will work independently, handling challenging set-ups and machining materials like steel, cast iron, bronze, and brass.

Job Duties:

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machines with minimal supervision.
• Position and set up workpieces using cranes or manual methods to hold tolerances as close as .001".
• Apply appropriate speeds, feeds, and machining methods for different materials.
• Write and edit CNC programs as needed using G-codes.
• Use precision measuring devices to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Perform blocking and aligning of heavy, irregular-shaped parts.
• CAM software programming
• Assist in assembly as needed

What you need to be successful:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in CNC setup and machining OR CNC Certification.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform necessary math calculations.
• Proficient with basic handheld measuring tools.
• 1+ years of experience programming in CAM software.
• Ability to lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with CNC.
• 3+ years of experience in manual machining
• 1+ years of Mastercam experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand 100% of the time.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, twisting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
