Telemetry Technician- Nights 7PM-7AM 36 Hours

Job Summary Reports to the Virtual Health Inpatient Manager. The Telemetry Technician will continually observe and interpret ECG rhythm monitors, respond promptly to alarms or ECG changes, and manage patient rhythms from a centralized location. The role requires the technician to monitor multiple patients throughout the shift and to recognize and respond to basic, lethal, and artifact rhythms, escalating changes to the appropriate nursing staff. Responsibilities Perform various activities related to telemetry monitoring on patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Oversee and communicate cardiac patterns on telemetric devices. Ensure complete and accurate information in the Electronic Health Record (EPIC). Document irregular rhythms and changes in heartbeat. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, providers, support staff, coworkers, and management. Contribute to the development of protocols, procedures, patient education, and training as assigned. Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and other committee functions. Process admissions, transfers, and discharge orders appropriately. Assist in orienting new telemetry technician personnel. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED. Completed SEH/SEP ECG class and pass the yearly exam with a minimum score of 85% and 100% on lethal arrhythmias. Experience Minimum: 1 year of applicable experience, quick learner, adaptable, able to work under pressure, team oriented, coachable, and open to learning new skills. Desired: Prior experience as a telemetry technician. Licenses & Certifications Minimum: Valid driver’s license for travel between sites. Desired: Telemetry Technician Certification. Required Skills and Knowledge Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Knowledge of Electronic Health Records – EPIC.
