Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit within a tertiary care hospital setting
• Care for patients with conditions including CHF, acute MI, post-device care (pacemakers), and arrhythmias, as well as general surgery patients including colorectal, ostomy, plastic, cosmetic, breast procedures, and reconstruction surgeries
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 in the Medical Surgical setting
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float to other units as required based on facility needs

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license – must be in hand at time of submission, no exceptions
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS certification (current and valid)
• NIHSS certification (current and valid – must be included at time of submission)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting – required, no exceptions
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume or fast-paced inpatient unit
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient populations
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
