Role Summary
The sushi chef prepares sushi, rolls, and sashimi with precision, serving both bar guests and the dining room in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have strong knife skills, experience with fish butchery, rice preparation, and clean, consistent plating. This is a guest-facing role requiring professionalism, interaction with guests, and a polished appearance.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests as they are seated at the sushi bar, creating a welcoming and engaging experience.
- Prepare raw fish and other sushi ingredients with precision, ensuring quality, freshness, and proper handling.
- Roll, cut, and plate sushi dishes to standard, accommodating individual guest preferences and special requests.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace at all times in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Provide friendly, attentive, and hospitable service, interacting with guests to enhance their overall dining experience.
Requirements
- Culinary arts education and training (preferred).
- Cooking and sushi-making experience.
- Must have knife skills.
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have communication, time management, and organizational abilities.
- Valid Food Handlers Certification
