Within Optum Insight, the Strategy and Innovation team is primarily focused on driving growth across our various business units. Role Description The Senior Director, Strategy and Innovation will partner with business unit executives and lead cross-functional project teams to drive growth by developing market strategies, identifying new growth opportunities, and defining new offerings and business models. This person will have a strong understanding of competitive dynamics, customer needs, market trajectory, and Optum’s capabilities across the health care landscape.Candidates located in Boston, MA; Washington D.C.; Eden Prairie, MN; Franklin, TN preferred but flexability to telecommute nationanwide consideredPrimary Responsibilities:Drive growth initiatives across Optum Insight’s businesses (Payer, Provider, State Government, Life Sciences) by leading strategic projects through scoping, planning, data collection, data analysis, expert interviews, business model development, synthesis, and executive communication Structure workplans with clearly defined objectives and deliverables to lead a cross-functional team in the development and execution of market level strategies Collaborate on strategic M&A prioritization and execution, building strategic analyses on priority targets with the goal of progressing key deals that enhance Optum Insight’s overall value proposition Build strong relationships with leaders across Optum Insight’s businessesInfluence the strategic direction of Optum Insight and its underlying businesses through strategic analysis, executive communication, and thought leadershipDevelop team members, enhancing their skills and capabilities through project work, coaching and mentorship; support development of team and broader Optum Insight cultureYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree 5+ years of professional experience3+ years of top-tier strategy consulting and/or corporate strategy experienceExperience leading consulting/project teamsExperience communicating data and strategic frameworks for executivesExperience working in or with large matrixed organizations History of quickly gaining credibility, partnering with business leaders, and exhibiting executive presenceProven conceptual, analytical, and financial modeling skillsMust be willing and able to travel up to 25% Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role.
