Our organization is on the lookout for qualified Board Certified/Board Eligible Anesthesiologists to become part of our Main Operating Room teams at both our North Hospital-Barry Rd. and Kansas City locations. You will be joining a supportive, physician-led division comprising over 170 anesthesiologists, intensivists, CRNAs, AAs, residents, and advanced practice providers throughout our system.

Position Highlights - Kansas City Location

• Full-time position encompassing a diverse range of cases, including general, orthopedic, robotic thoracic, ENT, OB/GYN, urology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, GI lab, kidney transplants, and OOOR procedures.
• Cardiac anesthesia (hearts, major vascular, liver transplant, CV lab) is overseen by a specialized cardiac team.
• Fellowship training is highly encouraged, with opportunities available on the Acute Pain Service for candidates trained in regional anesthesia.
• Collaborative care team model (1:2-1:3 medical direction) with limited direct case management by physicians.
• In-house call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a day off following the call; weekend call consists of split shifts.
• The call team includes residents and CRNAs/AAs, supported by a backup physician/anesthetist call team.
• Our facility serves as the primary teaching hospital for the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Medical School, offering opportunities for academic appointments based on experience.
• Established anesthesiology residency program with 18 residents and 7 interns, expanding to a total of 32 residents.

Position Highlights - North Hospital

• Full-time role covering Main Operating Room cases such as general, orthopedic, robotic, ENT, OB/GYN, urology, plastic surgery, GI lab, and OOOR procedures.
• Collaborative care team model (up to 1:4 medical direction) with minimal direct anesthesia administration by physicians.
• Out-of-house call (within a designated driving distance), shared among a team of 5 anesthesiologists.
• Call coverage is supported by an in-house CRNA/AA team, including OB coverage.

Additional Details

• Candidates must have completed or be in the process of completing an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency program (or equivalent) and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
