Overview
\nA highly regarded, mid-sized public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Director / Partner to join its growing Professional Services tax practice. This individual will serve as a strategic leader within the group, advising middle-market clients while playing a key role in driving business development and expanding the firm’s footprint.
\n \nA portable book of business is not required; this person will inherit an already established $20m+ book of business.
\n \nThis is a market-facing role with significant visibility, offering the opportunity to shape a practice, deepen client relationships, and mentor a high-performing team.
\n \nThe position offers flexibility to sit in New York City, Long Island, Boca Raton, or Palm Beach Gardens (hybrid).
\n \nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients across the Professional Services space, providing tax planning and compliance support \n
- Handle complex tax matters across partnerships, corporations, and individual partner/shareholder structures \n
- Provide technical guidance on partnership allocations, SALT considerations, and multi-entity structures \n
- Lead and review tax compliance engagements, including returns and technical memos \n
- Drive business development initiatives and identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships \n
- Represent the firm in the market through networking, events, and industry involvement \n
- Mentor and develop junior team members, including performance management and technical training \n
- Stay current on evolving tax regulations and ensure best practices across engagements \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- 10+ years of public accounting tax experience \n
- Strong background in partnership taxation and complex entity structures \n
- Experience working with middle-market clients, ideally across Professional Services and/or Consumer sectors \n
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management \n
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams \n
- CPA strongly preferred \n
