Vice President / Principal - Investor Reporting & Analytics (Salary $200k to $300k)

Overview

Our client, a Private Equity/Credit Fund manager, located in NYC, is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead its Investor Reporting & Analytics function. This individual will serve as the primary Finance partner for the firm's Credit business when it comes to investor performance reporting, supporting existing investors, prospective investors, senior management, and internal business partners.

The role sits at the intersection of Fund Finance, Valuation, Portfolio Data, Investor Relations, and Fundraising. The successful candidate will oversee complex performance reporting requests while designing scalable reporting processes that improve efficiency, consistency, and data integrity across the organization.

This position is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical and technical expertise with a process improvement mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.

Key Responsibilities

Investor Reporting & Performance Analytics

• Serve as the primary Finance contact for performance reporting requests from investors, prospective investors, senior leadership, Investor Relations, and Fundraising.
• Manage the end-to-end production of complex performance analyses, including fund-level and investment-level reporting.
• Produce and validate key performance metrics, including Gross and Net IRR, MOIC, TVPI, DPI, RVPI, time-weighted returns, loss ratios, payout analyses, and customized investor reporting.
• Evaluate incoming requests and determine whether existing reporting packages satisfy the need or whether customized analyses are required.
• Coordinate closely with Valuation, Fund Accounting, and Portfolio Data teams to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent delivery.

Process Improvement & Reporting Infrastructure

• Identify recurring reporting requests and transform manual processes into scalable, standardized reporting solutions.
• Develop templates, dashboards, automated reports, and reporting libraries that reduce ad hoc work across the Finance organization.
• Manage the quarterly production calendar for investor reporting, aligning deliverables with valuation and NAV close timelines.
• Partner with Data & Technology teams to improve the firm's reporting infrastructure and underlying data architecture.
• Establish reporting governance, version control, and documentation to improve consistency and operational efficiency.
• Lead completion of performance-related sections of Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs).
• Maintain standardized investor reporting packages and track record materials across all funds.
• Partner with Investor Relations and Capital Markets teams to prepare performance materials for fundraising activities and investor meetings.
• Support prospective investor diligence by delivering accurate, timely, and customized performance analyses.

Marketing & Performance Validation

• Review investor presentations, marketing materials, and fundraising decks to ensure all performance information reconciles with official books and records.
• Serve as the Finance gatekeeper for all externally distributed performance data.
• Provide Investor Relations and Marketing with validated reporting exhibits and approved performance datasets.
• Direct and oversee the work of offshore analytics resources responsible for recurring reporting activities.
• Act as the Finance subject matter expert for performance reporting in system implementations and data initiatives.
• Partner with technology teams to enhance automation, reporting capabilities, and data quality.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience within private equity, private credit, real estate, or another alternative asset manager.
• Deep expertise in investor reporting, performance measurement, valuation reporting, and portfolio analytics.
• Strong understanding of alternative investment performance metrics, including IRR, MOIC, TVPI, DPI, RVPI, and related calculations.
• Demonstrated success improving reporting processes through automation, standardization, and technology.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms preferred.
• Experience working with systems such as iLevel, Geneva, Snowflake, or comparable portfolio management, accounting, or reporting platforms.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across Finance, Investor Relations, Valuation, Fund Accounting, and senior leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex performance data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Prior experience managing or coordinating offshore or outsourced reporting resources is preferred.
