Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional, instructional aide, or relevant classroom support role
• Comfort and skill working 1:1 with students who have a variety of needs
• Ability to follow educator guidance and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) or behavior strategies
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers and school staff
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certificates in education or special education is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct academic and behavioral support to an assigned student, as guided by classroom teachers and support staff
• Reinforce lesson content, assist with classroom activities, and encourage appropriate participation
• Help monitor student progress, noting accomplishments and areas of growth for reporting purposes
• Offer encouragement and emotional support, nurturing self-esteem and social skills
• Facilitate smooth transitions between activities and routines throughout the school day
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment in accordance with district policies
