Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a dedicated Paraprofessional in a supportive educational setting just outside Lees Summit, MO. This contract opportunity is available for the full school year through the end of May. You'll assist students and teachers at either a middle school or elementary school, contributing valuable support to classroom activities and promoting a positive learning environment.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Active substitute certification through DESE required
- Experience working in schools, ideally with behavioral support
- Willingness to complete fingerprinting (candidate is responsible for fingerprint fee)
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned school(s)
- Flexibility to adapt to assignments and potentially change locations during the year
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom support to students and teachers
- Support students needing individualized or behavioral accommodations
- Help manage classroom routines, transitions, and instructional activities
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment for students with diverse needs
- Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and administrators
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
This position is available at two different school sites, with shift times between 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 4:25 PM, depending on assignment. The interview process includes a prescreen and a district panel. Importantly, after six months of contract work, there’s potential for a seamless transition to a direct district role with no fee.
