Radiation Therapist
Seven Healthcare are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a travel assignment in Rockford, IL. This role involves administering radiation treatments in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring high-quality patient care within an acute care setting.
Key responsibilities of the Radiation Therapist include:
- Administer radiation treatments as per the oncologist's prescription and instructions
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality and continuity of patient care
- Observe patients for reactions and ensure radiation safety guidelines are followed
- Assist with dosimetry and tumor localization procedures
- Maintain accurate treatment records and perform equipment checks
- Participate in patient education and advocacy, particularly for adult and geriatric populations
Requirements of the Radiation Therapist include:
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiation Therapists) certification within one year of graduation
- Licensed by or license-pending with the State of Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety
- IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
