This role requires a strong understanding of structural fabrication processes and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.What You'll Be DoingStructural Steel FabricationRead, interpret, and lay out raw steel materials from structural blueprints and AWS welding symbolsMeasure, mark, and fabricate structural steel components to specificationPosition, align, square, and fit heavy carbon steel plates, beams, and assembliesUtilize torches, grinders, fixtures, and fabrication tools to prepare materialsWeldingPerform high-quality FCAW (Dual-Shield Flux-Core) weldingExecute MIG (GMAW) welding on carbon steelProduce defect-free welds that meet structural specifications and quality standardsMaintain welding quality while working efficiently and safelyMiscellaneous Metals FabricationFabricate custom industrial stairs, stringers, handrails, guardrails, and specialty metal componentsEnsure clean fit-up and cosmetically smooth weld finishesProduce finished products that meet customer and engineering specificationsMaterial Handling & Equipment OperationSafely operate overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and material handling systemsInterface with automated fabrication equipmentAssist with CNC drill line, robotic plasma, and other automated machinery when requiredQuality & SafetyVerify finished products meet tight structural tolerancesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow all shop safety and quality proceduresRequired QualificationsMust Have:5+ years of structural steel fabrication experience in a shop environmentExtensive experience fabricating:Structural SteelStairsHandrailsGuardrailsMiscellaneous MetalsDeep proficiency with:FCAW (Dual-Shield Flux-Core Welding)MIG Welding (GMAW)Ability to independently read and execute complex blueprint drawingsStrong understanding of AWS welding symbols and fabrication layoutsAbility to pass an in-person:Layout TestFitting TestWelding TestPreferred QualificationsAWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification (Current or Previous)Experience operating:CNC Drill LinesRobotic Plasma EquipmentAutomated Fabrication MachineryExperience with heavy steel fabrication and industrial projectsIdeal CandidateYou are someone who:Takes pride in craftsmanshipCan work independently with minimal supervisionUnderstands structural steel fabrication from start to finishProduces accurate layouts and clean weldsThrives in a production-focused shop environmentPrioritizes safety, quality, and teamworkJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
