Job Description
The duties include:
- Assessing patient cardiopulmonary status based on physical exam, pulmonary function results and laboratory data.
- Interpreting blood gas and pulmonary function results on test technical accuracy and logic.
- Organizing and carrying out asthma education for asthmatics including asthma teaching, inhaler/nebulizer instruction, and review of written asthma instructions with the family and patient.
- Performing all routine technical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
- Regularly setting up and monitoring complex respiratory therapy equipment such as volume and pressure ventilators.
- Maintaining department areas and equipment including packaging equipment for sterilization and disinfecting when appropriate.
