MIG Welder

This role focuses on high-volume pulse MIG welding in a very fast-paced production environment. You will weld mild steel components all day using weld fixtures and weld symbols to complete units within defined cycle times. Welders typically perform 2,000–2,500 welds per day, so consistency, efficiency, and strong cosmetic weld quality are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform pulse MIG welding on mild steel components throughout the shift in a fast-paced production setting.
• Use weld fixtures and interpret weld symbols to correctly position and weld parts according to specifications.
• Load metal parts onto fixtures, weld designated sections of the unit, then unload and pass the unit to the next welder in the process flow.
• Maintain highly consistent and cosmetically sound welds to meet quality standards on every unit.
• Meet production expectations, understanding that productivity is measured at the weld cell level rather than by individual output.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Work safely in a hot, physically demanding manufacturing environment, including frequent bending, twisting, and lifting.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment, including weld helmet, gloves, weld jacket, steel-toe boots, and ear plugs.
• Memorize and follow standardized procedures, weld sequences, and production requirements to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to attendance guidelines, recognizing that excessive occurrences can impact employment status.

Essential Skills

• Consistent, steady welding ability in MIG, TIG, or pulse welding.
• Proficiency in pulse MIG welding on mild steel in a production environment.
• Ability to read and correctly interpret weld symbols.
• Experience using weld fixtures in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to work effectively in a hot, physically demanding environment with continuous bending, twisting, and lifting.
• Strong memorization skills to retain weld sequences, procedures, and production standards.
• Commitment to reliable attendance and adherence to attendance policies.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that is not air-conditioned and can become hot, especially during warmer months. The role is highly physical, involving bending, twisting, and lifting throughout the day in a production-based welding environment. You will work within a weld cell where output is measured at the team level, and you will use welding fixtures and pulse MIG equipment on mild steel. Required attire includes a weld helmet, gloves, weld jacket, steel-toe boots, and ear plugs, all of which must be worn to maintain safety standards. Attendance is closely monitored, with no more than four attendance occurrences allowed within six months and any occurrences in the first 30 days potentially resulting in termination, underscoring the importance of reliability in this environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Anoka, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
