Physical Therapy Assistant

Purpose: Conduct patient care as directed by Physical Therapist and participate in efficient, cost-effective planning and operation of the Physical Therapy Department. Responsibilities: Delivers treatment based on initial assessment by a physical therapist. Provides feedback to the supervising physical therapist based on patient's progress. Interacts with other disciplines when necessary to meet patient's needs. Participates in the discharge process with patient, family and other disciplines as necessary. Provides education to promote knowledge and skills needed to meet patient's needs. Informs patients and family of charges related to the patient's program. Performs other related duties as assigned. Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or equivalent experience. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Two (2) years experience in Physical Therapy Assisting preferred, but new graduates are accepted. BLS provider or obtain within 3 months of hire.
