VAS Supervisor - 2nd Shift (W-16)

Schedule Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Monday through Friday Job Purpose Position will report to the Co-Pack/Retail Fulfillment Manager. Manage any staff assigned to shift, including employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Supervise all computer entry work and all paperwork flow. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assign work assignments for all warehouse staffing, keeping in mind customer specifications. Monitors quality and accuracy of all shipments according to customer specifications. Ensures department staff meets customer requirements and updates training on any changes. Communicates with customers and responds to inquiries, implementing required actions. Ensures safety, training and development of employees, drivers and contractors per OSHA and RJW policies. Oversees completion of all computer data entry, checking for accuracy and efficiency. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies. Maintains and approves all shift employee timesheets for weekly payroll, including temp hours, making corrections as needed. Monitors overtime hours to meet department requirements. Completes daily building checks, notifies Co-Pack manager of equipment or building problems and preventive maintenance needs, and assists with equipment upkeep per manufacturer recommendations. Ensures warehouse employees adhere to AIB processes, procedures and guidelines and have AIB training for handling food products. Assures all checklists for building, equipment and safety are completed as designated by SOP or policy. Issues corrective actions or work orders to correct or fix issues. Ensures proper procedures are taken for accident reporting, care of injured employees and notification of HR and management for emergency actions. Performs assigned tasks or other duties as instructed by Co-Pack manager. Qualifications Minimum 1‑2 years related experience or training in co-pack. Minimum 2 years related experience or training in warehouse environment. Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred). PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database. Minimum associate’s degree or 6+ years of supervisory/management experience with references. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets. Must effectively communicate, read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers. Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates, ratios and percentages, draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning ability: solve practical problems, determine root cause, and determine corrective action. Computer skills: knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, word processing and spreadsheet software. Familiarity with labeling software (NiceLabel, Bartender) is a plus. Physical Demands Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons. Articulate and comfortably speak in front of others. Work in an indoor/office environment; sit and use repetitive hand motion. Talk, hear, stand and walk frequently. Work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required. Work under stressful situations, maintain work accuracy and concentrate on multiple tasks. Read and discern visual images on various media with 20/20 corrected vision. Speak and communicate clearly over telephones. Maintain sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician and no evidence of controlled substance use. Work Environment While performing duties, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.
