HR Operations Specialist

Overview HR Operations Specialist (Contract) supporting Southwest Airlines. Based in Dallas, TX, this role supports essential HR operations to ensure smooth functioning and employee experience. Key Information Role: Contract / Early Career Type: Contract Location: In‑person, Dallas, TX Pay: $39–$49 hourly Team: HR Operations; placed within specific functional teams Mission: Support day‑to‑day HR operations, ensuring effective process execution, compliance, and employee lifecycle support across various business functions. Tech Stack: HR Information Systems (HRIS) Responsibilities Record Management: Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date employee records, including personal information and employment status. System Management: Update and manage HR Information Systems (HRIS) to maintain data integrity. Employee Lifecycle: Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires and manage offboarding tasks for departing employees. Compliance & Support: Assist with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries. Reporting & Improvement: Prepare and generate reports on HR metrics, such as compliance and team productivity, and support efforts to streamline HR processes. Requirements Background: Hold a High School Diploma or GED, with developing skills and knowledge in HR disciplines, principles, practices, and policies. Experience: Possess entry‑level experience in HR Operations, specifically in areas such as Absence Management, Compliance, Pre‑Employment, and Quality Assurance. Skills: Demonstrate knowledge of applying compliance regulations, legal requirements related to employment screening, I9 verification, and data security, along with principles of customer service. Skilled in active listening, understanding implications of new information, collecting and organizing data, and generating creative solutions.
