Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and ED experience for a night shift position at a 562-bed Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 562 total staffed beds, designated as a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet facility,
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hours (1800-0630),
• Adult critical care and emergency department patient population,
• Required to work every other weekend,
• On-call required as needed for the department,
• Floating within scope is required, including to nearby affiliate hospitals,
• Charting via Cerner EMR,
• Free parking available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation,
• Any solid color scrubs accepted,

Job Requirements

• Active RRT credential required,
• BLS certification required; AHA or Red Cross accepted - RQI AHA cards are not accepted,
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist,
• Active Illinois (IL) license required - license required if applicable,
• Adult critical care and emergency department experience required,
• Airway management experience required: endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy/suctioning,
• Nebulizer therapy experience required: handheld, T-piece, and trach collar,
• Oxygen therapy experience required: bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, and Venturi masks,
• Ventilator management experience required: BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation,
• Cerner EMR experience required,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred,
